B-280, Patliputra Colony, Patna-800013, Tel: +91 612 2263999 Email: genderresourcecentre@gmail.com Introduction Gender Resource Centre, Women Development Corporation Bihar is organizing World’s first Gender Literature Festival(GLF) at Patna. The festival will be organized from 7 April, 2017 to 9 April, 2017 at NIFT, Patna. Objective To create a platform, in the form of a Literature and Art Festival to increase visibility towards Gender Equity and Advocacy in the state. GLF will be platform for the creation of Gender based Knowledge and resources from, across various agencies and stakeholders and a forum for exchange of Gender related ideas and solution. The Concept Literature, Art and Culture are a strong medium to propagate the message of Gender Sensitivity. When combined together, it can create a strong platform for disseminating information in an effective way. Gender Literature Festival is arguably World’s first Literature festival around Gender and intends to educate people about gender and associated issues through talks and panel discussions and engage the audience around gender issues through contests, activities and entertainment programs. The Speakers GLF will host speakers coming from around the country and overseas. Speakers include eminent personalities who have done work in the field of gender and literature or have created a body of work in that deals with gender and related issues. The Audience Gender Literature Festival will be attended by policy makers, bureaucrats, social workers, activists and students, authors, artists, literature and art enthusiast and general audience from the city of Patna and beyond. 5. Dr. Ajit Kumar Pradhan, Founder Director, Patna Literature Festival and famous Cardiologist. 6. Ms Naghma Saher Senior Anchor/ Editor at NDTV, Delhi
7. Mr. Dipankar Mukherjee An MBA from IIT, Chennai and part of strategy teams at IBM and Ernst & Young. He currently runs one of India’s fastest growing young publishing houses, Readomania, focusing on Women Writers.
